On behalf of Cub Scout Pack 610 we would like to thank Pelham Community Spirit for awarding our Pack a grant to help with some much needed repairs for the Raymond Park Lodge. The lodge is known to both the girl and boy scouts as the Scout Hut and is utilized by Pelham Parks and Recs for their toddler summer camp. In addition, we would like to thank Walmart Corporation for an additional grant to help purchase new outdoor benches for Raymond Park and the Library.
Our Pack has been busy this summer attending Cub Scout Camp in July and our recent overnight on the USS Salem, the only remaining Heavy Cruiser in world. On the USS Salem the boys toured the onboard museums, participated in actual ship fire drills, a gurney relay, torpedo exercises and more. The best part was they got to spend the night in the enlisted men’s quarters. In the morning we were picked up by a commuter boat and given a tour of the Boston and Quincy harbors.
September has us recruiting new scouts for our Pack. This year, like last, is promising to be jammed pack with fun and learning. Look for our SPECTACULAR Float in the Old HomeDay Parade and visit our OHD booth; race your veggies, make a free craft and learn more about our dynamic Cub Scout Pack.
